A recent study found that only 50% of Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) calculate their emissions, and two-thirds lack sufficient knowledge and skills to tackle the climate crisis. The EMphasis3 programme of decarbonisation activity will deliver a range of workshops to transfer knowledge to SMEs and organisations.
The EMphasis3 Project hosts this in-person & interactive workshop which will focus on how businesses can achieve Net Zero Carbon, and what challenges and hurdles they may contend with along the way.
Delivered by GEP Environmental the content will be focused on educating organisations on what Net Zero means, and the path that should be followed to ensure it can be attained in a manner that compliments and supports the business from both environmental and commercial aspects.
This will include discussions focusing on:
• Carbon Footprint: what is it and how to understand your emissions baseline and current usage levels.
• Energy Efficiency & Management Solutions: reviewing small changes that provide quick wins to organisations such as; energy saving measures, energy saving processes, procedures, behavioural change.
• Energy Assessments / Audits: what they entail, and the benefits they provide to organisations.
• Decarbonisation Projects: an example of what these include, and the effect they will have on your emissions.
• Renewable Energy Opportunities: explain the various types of renewable energy, complimentary technologies available.
• Funding opportunities: what and where is funding available for organisations.
What to expect:
The delivery of the workshops will be a collaborative session between the consultant and attendees.
A ‘bespoke consultancy session’ will be provided for delegates where they are able to discuss all areas of decarbonisation, and those that specifically relate to their own organisation and sector. This approach will enable delegates to get a detailed understanding of decarbonisation, net zero carbon, and what options are available to them as real-life examples will be provided that our consultants have worked on and delivered for clients.
Who should attend?
These workshops are free for members of the EMphasis3 Project, who are looking to reduce their energy usage and bills. Any businesses that meet the EU definition of an SME are welcome to register their interest in these events.
**Important** - please note: a short online application form will need to be completed by non-programme members following registration in order to confirm eligibility to attend these workshops.
